Barcelona legend warns Hansi Flick: “If you don’t bring a title”
Barcelona’s strong start to the season can be attributed to several factors aligning at the right moment.
The managerial change and the new system it introduced, along with the confidence instilled by the new coach, Hansi Flick, have been key to the team’s resurgence. At the same time, a significant amount of credit must go to the players for entering the campaign in excellent form and with a strong desire to succeed.
In a recent interview, Barcelona legend Rivaldo shared his thoughts on the team’s impressive start, Hansi Flick’s impact, and the rise of Lamine Yamal.
**Impressed by Yamal**
Rivaldo praised Lamine Yamal, the teenage sensation who has captured the football world’s attention with his performances on the right wing.
“He’s a great player. I admire him because he has a personality despite being young. But he already has a very, very high level. I think he’s already up to Mbappé and Vinicius.”
Rivaldo went on to highlight the potential he sees in the young player and the promise of even greater achievements ahead.
“Given his personality, I think he still has a lot to show. He’s going to go very, very far.”
The Brazilian icon also labeled Yamal a ‘differential’ player for the future.
“You see Yamal and he plays with joy. He enjoys soccer. Considering the fact that he has already won the Euro Cup, it makes him a differential footballer for the future. I’m convinced.”
**On Barcelona’s strong start and Hansi Flick**
Shifting focus to Barcelona’s strong start and Hansi Flick’s early success at the club, Rivaldo commented:
“With big teams like Barça, everything depends on results. It’s true that Flick’s Barça is playing phenomenally, but there’s a long way to go in the season.”
“There’s still a lot of Champions League, La Liga, and the Cup. I would be cautious and wait until the end of the season,” he added, advising patience.
Rivaldo also shared a piece of advice for the current manager based on his own experience:
“At Barça, it only counts if you reach the finals and win titles. If you don’t bring trophies, the fans and the press will question you.”
“But with that said, I see a different Barça than last season, and I think they already have everything they need to win important titles. However, we’ll have to wait,” he concluded.
