Thomas Tuchel has already shared his Man Utd masterplan in ‘secret meeting’ with Sir Jim Ratcliffe

According to a recent report, Thomas Tuchel has already presented his “masterplan” for becoming Manchester United’s manager during a secret meeting with club officials. The *Manchester Evening News* reported on Monday that United are considering Tuchel as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag, who has been under mounting pressure due to poor results, particularly after the 3-0 defeat to Tottenham at Old Trafford.
United’s recent defensive improvement in the 0-0 draw against Aston Villa did little to ease concerns, as the club sits in 14th place in the Premier League with just eight points from their first seven games. This marks United’s worst start to a top-flight season since 1990, and club leadership appears ready to make changes.

The report claims that United had a secret meeting with Tuchel in Monaco after his departure from Bayern Munich, during which he discussed his vision with minority co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Part of his proposal was aimed at improving the situation of Mason Mount at Old Trafford.
Tuchel, however, previously rejected the chance to manage United due to disagreements over the club’s transfer policy and power structure. It remains unclear whether his stance has changed, but his availability—having been out of work since leaving Bayern Munich—is thought to be a key factor in United’s interest.
Other potential candidates include Gareth Southgate and Ruud van Nistelrooy, though David Ornstein reported that Southgate, the former England manager, was never considered a serious candidate over the summer and is unlikely to be one now.
