Man Utd ‘make Jadon Sancho transfer decision’ after six games at Borussia Dortmund

It has been reported that Manchester United has made a decision about Jadon Sancho’s future.

After a miserable season at United that saw him banished from first-team activities, Sancho signed a loan deal with Borussia Dortmund during the January transfer window.

The England international had not been on the pitch for United since a confrontation with Erik ten Hag at the beginning of September. Following this incident, the player took to social media to criticise his manager after the Dutchman blamed his exclusion from an Arsenal match on his training sessions.

But Sancho has had trouble regaining his best form since finalising the Dortmund transfer. Although the winger gave an assist in his Bundesliga debut match against Darmstadt, who were at the bottom at the time, he has since participated in five games where he failed to score or assist

Football Insider reports that United intends to sell Sancho permanently this summer, despite the fact that the loan to Dortmund does not include a buy option.

If a potential team satisfies their price demands, the Premier League club is said to approve the attacker’s permanent departure.

Sancho’s deal with United, which is said to pay him over £290,000 per week, is scheduled to expire in 2026. The 23-year-old has only managed 12 goals and six assists since securing a high-profile £72 million move to Old Trafford in 2021.

When Sancho returned to Dortmund, the city where he rose to fame before to joining United, he said he was excited to play football while wearing a “smile on [his] face.”

“It felt like ‘coming home’ when I walked into the dressing room today,” Sancho stated.

“I’ve always had a close relationship with the fans here, I know the club inside and out, and I’ve never lost touch with the management.”

“I can’t wait to see my teammates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, prepare goals, score goals and help qualify for the Champions League.”
