Last month, Arteta was questioned about Arsenal’s chances of signing Mbappe given his circumstances at PSG.

I’m not. I’m not involved until the very end, but maybe Edu and the owners are,” he remarked.

“Why not?” he continued. It goes without saying that you need the top players if you want to be the best team.”

“The club that we are, I don’t think that’s ever been an issue,” Mbappe said in response to a question about whether Arsenal would be an attractive club for him. Everyone aspires to be an Arsenal player.

“At least with the players we’ve discussed, they’ve always had a smile on their face when you open the door to that discussion. That’s because of our history and everything we’ve done in the past.”

Arteta continued: “When there is a player of that calibre, we always have to be in that conversation. But it looks in a different way, that’s what I would say.”
