Arne Slot blocked from finally completing Jurgen Klopp’s ‘dream’ signing at Liverpool

Arne Slot has also been blocked from completing Jurgen Klopp’s dream Liverpool signing.

Arne Slot’s plans to secure Jurgen Klopp’s desired signing for Liverpool have hit a snag.

The Dutch manager is on the verge of taking over as Liverpool’s next manager, following reports of a compensation fee agreement with Feyenoord, amounting to £9.4 million.

Slot is expected to step into Jurgen Klopp’s shoes, as Klopp announced his departure from Anfield at the end of the current season back in January.

Upon assuming the helm at Anfield, Arne Slot will reportedly be prevented from pursuing a player Jurgen Klopp has long admired.

Klopp’s interest in Barcelona’s Gavi has been well-documented, with reports suggesting the German manager had been keen on securing the midfielder’s services. However, according to The Athletic, Barcelona has designated only three players, namely Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, and Gavi, as “untouchable” amid their summer sales plans.

Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez refrained from discussing Robert Lewandowski’s future amid speculation linking the prolific striker with potential moves to the Saudi Pro League and MLS. Despite Lewandowski’s impressive tally of 23 goals this season, rumors persist about his next destination.

Xavi praised Lewandowski’s contributions to the team, highlighting his exceptional work ethic and leadership qualities both on and off the pitch. The Barcelona boss expressed his satisfaction with Lewandowski’s performance and emphasized his importance to the squad.

“I am not going to speak about anyone’s future as I don’t think it’s helpful for us. I am happy with Robert.

“The work he does for the team is extraordinary, an outstanding footballer and an example for the dressing room on the way he conducts himself. That’s why he scored a hat-trick. I am delighted for him.”
