Liverpool suffer blow as they have stunning €120 million offer rejected by European giants – Reports

Liverpool’s approach for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo has reportedly been rejected. According to journalist Eduardo Inda on El Chiringuito de Jugones via the Anfield Index, Liverpool made a €120 million offer for the Brazilian international, which Real Madrid declined.
Liverpool is preparing for a significant summer transfer window, which could include a major overhaul at the club. Jurgen Klopp is set to leave after nearly nine years, with Arne Slot expected to take over. Additionally, key attackers Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Mohamed Salah have been linked with potential exits from the club.

Liverpool’s interest in Rodrygo is well-founded, as the 23-year-old has been a long-term target, even before his €45 million move to Real Madrid from Santos in 2019. Rodrygo has become a key player for Real Madrid, making 213 appearances and contributing 54 goals and 41 assists.
His versatility, being effective on either flank or as a number nine, makes him a valuable asset. If Liverpool were to sign him, he would likely be a crucial player under Arne Slot. However, Real Madrid is unlikely to sell him unless they need to balance their books due to Kylian Mbappe’s anticipated arrival.
Real Madrid is also reportedly considering a move for Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold in the summer of 2025. The Reds’ vice-captain’s current contract expires in 2025, and Real Madrid aims to lure him on a free transfer. Alexander-Arnold is regarded as one of the best full-backs of his generation, known for his exceptional creativity.
With Jurgen Klopp leaving, Real Madrid believes Alexander-Arnold might choose not to extend his contract. Despite this, the 25-year-old, who has made 309 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 19 goals and providing 81 assists, has expressed his desire to represent his boyhood club throughout his career.
