Arne Slot has already explained why Federico Chiesa left first Liverpool training session early

Federico Chiesa left Liverpool’s training session early on Friday after Arne Slot said the Italian was unlikely to feature at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Some Liverpool fans were concerned on Friday when Federico Chiesa exited his first training session with the club early. The Italian forward recently joined the Reds from Juventus for a fee potentially rising to $16 million after being sidelined by new Juventus manager Thiago Motta. Liverpool took advantage of Chiesa being in the final year of his contract to secure him for a reduced price.
Chiesa has faced injury struggles in recent years, which have affected his reputation as a quick, dynamic winger. So, when he didn’t participate in an attacking drill that included Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, and Cody Gakpo, some fans feared an injury setback. However, Chiesa gave a reassuring thumbs-up as he left the training pitch, suggesting that there was no injury.
It is believed that Chiesa’s early exit from the session was pre-planned by manager Arne Slot, with the Italian’s involvement in training expected to gradually increase over the coming days. Slot mentioned in a Friday press conference that Chiesa was unlikely to feature in the match against Manchester United at Old Trafford. “He’s going to train with us today, but there’s a bigger chance that he is not in the squad for Sunday than he is,” Slot stated.
Slot also mentioned that Curtis Jones will miss the United match due to injury, while the rest of the squad trained as usual.
