Pep Guardiola is communicating with the Real Madrid star to finalize his transfer to Manchester City
There were reports that Pep Guardiola, the coach of Manchester City, contacted one of the Real Madrid stars to persuade him to join Manchester City.
Many reports have previously suggested that Rodrygo will become a substitute player next season after the official signing of French striker Kylian Mbappe.
Jose Felix Diaz, a journalist for the newspaper “Marca” and the “El Chiringuito” program on YouTube, said: “There are two things related to the future of Rodrygo Goes, which is that the club is not closing the door on him, and he himself is not ruling out the scenario of his departure.” He added: “I was told that Guardiola called Rodrygo recently, but I cannot confirm that 100%. The player feels uncomfortable and we will see where it goes. Some small things happened last week.”
He concluded: “The European Super Cup and the first match in the Spanish League will determine many things in Rodrygo’s future.”
Rodrygo recently raised doubts about his future when he was asked in an interview before the Champions League final: “All of Europe wants you, but do you want Madrid forever?” The player replied: “Yes, well… anything can happen… I have a contract here. But the years I spent here were enjoyable for me.”
British reports stated that Real Madrid officials were angry with Rodrygo’s statement, although the player later issued a clarification.
