Manchester United has reached a verbal agreement with Italian club Lecce to sign highly-rated left-back Patrick Dorgu for approximately £29 million. The deal is set to be finalized pending the completion of formalities and a medical examination.
Dorgu, a 20-year-old Danish international, has excelled at Lecce, where he has made 57 appearances and scored five goals. His performances earned him a place in the Denmark national team, where he marked his debut with a goal against Switzerland.
This signing represents the first acquisition under new manager Ruben Amorim, who favors a tactical 3-4-2-1 formation. Amorim has specifically targeted Dorgu to strengthen the left flank following injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
