Liverpool could consider signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia if the Georgian winger leaves Napoli in January. According to The Athletic’s reputable journalist David Ornstein, the Reds admire the 23-year-old and are closely monitoring his situation at the Italian club.

Although Liverpool are not actively pursuing Kvaratskhelia at present, they may act if he becomes available. However, they face competition from European heavyweights such as PSG and Chelsea, who are also interested in the highly-rated forward.

Since joining Napoli from Rubin Kazan in 2022, Kvaratskhelia has established himself as one of Europe’s top attackers, amassing 30 goals and 29 assists in 107 appearances across all competitions. This season, he has contributed five goals and three assists in 19 games, bringing his career totals to 52 goals and 53 assists, according to Transfermarkt.

Kvaratskhelia’s contract with Napoli runs until 2027, but with no progress on an extension, top clubs across Europe are keeping a close eye on his status.

Liverpool’s Left-Wing Situation

A move for Kvaratskhelia would be unexpected given Liverpool’s depth on the left flank, with Luis Díaz and Cody Gakpo currently covering the position. While all three players can play across the front line, their primary role overlaps.

However, a transfer could become logical if one of Liverpool’s current attackers departs. Reports suggest Luis Díaz has rejected a contract extension due to unsatisfactory terms, with Barcelona reportedly interested in the Colombian. If Díaz were to leave, Liverpool might see Kvaratskhelia as a suitable replacement to maintain their attacking quality and depth.
