Erik ten Hag has disclosed that up to five players may make a comeback from their injuries in the upcoming month.

Similar to several Premier League teams, Manchester United faced a string of injuries to key players this season. The unexpected partnership of Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans at Old Trafford in 2023 was a result of Ten Hag making use of the players at his disposal. Fortunately, the Dutch manager anticipates the return of several players to the first team next month, as he mentioned in his Friday press conference, stating, “So, it will be a similar squad as we had against Villa,” when discussing the upcoming trip to Nottingham Forest.

“In mid-January, we anticipate the return of several players, including Mason, Casemiro, Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, and, of course, Harry Maguire. We’re hopeful for the return of many players in January,” stated Ten Hag. Despite the positive momentum from the comeback win against Aston Villa, the upcoming trip to Forest poses a challenging task for the team. Newly appointed Nuno Espirito Santo led his side to a notable 3-1 victory against Newcastle on Tuesday.
