Liverpool has reportedly made an approach to sign another Bayern Munich star alongside Leroy Sane, according to recent reports. Sources indicate that the club has initiated discussions regarding an additional Bayern Munich talent, as they prepare for a potential squad overhaul in the summer.

Since taking charge at Anfield, Arne Slot has made a significant impact, guiding Liverpool to a seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League and maintaining an unbeaten record in the Champions League. Despite this success, Slot has largely relied on the same squad inherited from Jurgen Klopp, with Federico Chiesa being the only summer signing. However, injuries have limited Chiesa’s involvement to just three appearances so far.

Looking ahead to 2025, Liverpool is expected to undergo major changes. A goalkeeping transition is already in motion, with Giorgi Mamardashvili confirmed to arrive as Alisson’s backup and potential successor at the end of the current season. Additionally, speculation surrounds the left-back position, with Andy Robertson now 30 years old and potential replacements being considered.

During the summer transfer window, Slot had targeted a midfielder, with Martin Zubimendi being his primary choice. Plans to reinforce this area are expected to be revisited next summer, despite Ryan Gravenberch’s promising displays.

Contract situations also pose challenges for Liverpool, as key players Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all set to be out of contract at the end of the season. With interest from several top European clubs, the uncertainty surrounding their futures could significantly impact the club’s long-term plans.

Amid these developments, Liverpool is reportedly positioning itself to capitalize on free agency next summer to secure Leroy Sane’s signature. The club is believed to be in a strong position to sign the winger while simultaneously pursuing another Bayern Munich player.

Recent reports suggest that Liverpool has reached out to the representatives of Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies, whose contract is set to expire next summer. As the club actively searches for a left-back, they have been linked with Milos Kerkez and Antonee Robinson in recent weeks. However, both players could prove costly due to their affiliations with Premier League rivals.

In contrast, Davies might present a more financially viable option, though his reported weekly wage of £180,000 would surpass that of the other targets. According to reports, both Liverpool and Manchester United have inquired about Davies, viewing his contract situation as a potential opportunity.

Despite this interest, Bayern Munich has made significant progress in contract renewal talks with Davies in recent days. While a new deal has not yet been finalized, discussions are ongoing, and a resolution could be reached soon.

Liverpool may still attempt to take advantage of the situation, but with Bayern actively working toward securing Davies’ long-term future, the window of opportunity for a transfer appears to be narrowing. If the club is serious about acquiring the Canadian international, swift action will be necessary to prevent Bayern from securing his services for the foreseeable future.
