Greenwood shakes up Saudi Arabian football
Former Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood is drawing major attention from clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
According to Foot01, Neom SC — a club competing in Saudi Arabia — is ready to spend up to €100 million to sign Greenwood in the summer 2026 transfer window. If completed, this would make the former England international the most expensive signing in Saudi league history, surpassing Neymar’s €70 million move to Al Hilal.
If the transfer materializes, Manchester United stand to gain a considerable sum. The club had previously inserted a clause that entitles them to 40–50% of any future transfer fee if Greenwood is sold by his current team.

The €100 million valuation is considered reasonable for Greenwood, who is only 24 years old and still has a long career ahead of him. His strong performances for Olympique Marseille have significantly boosted his market value.
This season, Greenwood has been directly involved in 17 goals (13 goals and 4 assists) in just 20 appearances for Marseille in all competitions. Earlier today (December 10), the former United attacker showcased his talent once again with a solo effort and a clinical finish in Marseille’s 3–2 win over Union SG in the Champions League group stage.
Beyond his well-known ability to finish with both feet — something he had already shown during his time at Manchester United — Greenwood is now evolving into a more complete forward. He is improving his link-up play and demonstrating the versatility to play both on the wings and as a central striker.
